SHS students go for gold in running event

July 29, 2024
Earlier this month, three students represented Sutherland House School in an inclusive running event at Harvey Haddon Stadium in Bilborough, Nottingham.
Students were registered, did their warm up and became familiar with the running track before the event.
The students ran around the 400-metre track with a familiar member of staff at their side, collecting a sticker after each successful two laps.
The rewards system was as follows:
Bronze sticker - Two laps
Silver sticker - Four laps
Gold sticker - Six laps
Two of our students successfully ran the six laps and therefore collected a gold sticker, with the third student collecting a silver sticker for running four laps.
The running track was very busy with over 100 students representing over ten schools.
The event was a great success, and this is the fifth occasion we have entered a team.
Students who ran on the day were: Ethan Souden, Lewis O’Kane and Ethan Dejewski-Fletcher from Key Stage 3.
Well done to all those involved, a brilliant effort was displayed by all the students, and we're very proud of them. We're already looking forward to next year’s inclusive running event.
