A message from our head teacher
Our vision and values underpin all that we do to ensure we provide a high-quality individualised and person-centred experience for all of our pupils.
Here at Sutherland House School, we are proud to offer a broad and balanced curriculum for autistic children and young people. We provide structured and meaningful learning experiences for all pupils. We strive to reach personalised outcomes for each student including academic progress, preparation for adulthood outcomes and EHCP outcomes. This supports our young people to thrive into their next stage beyond our school experience.
The experienced, caring and dedicated staff support each student using Positive Behaviour Support. This is integral to every part of school life and is tailored individually to the diverse needs of each pupil. Our staff empower our students to be an integral part in decision making and help guide their school experience with dignity and respect.
We value everyone who has an input into the lives of our pupils and you, as parents/carers, are paramount to ensure we can work together to achieve the best outcomes. By working in partnership with you, we support your child in reaching their full potential.
We are privileged as a school to work in collaboration with a specialist Clinical Team including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapy and Psychology services. This allows us to work with each individual in a holistic and person-centred approach.
You are welcome to book a visit and see for yourselves how we value and care for our pupils. Appointments and further information can be discussed with our friendly administration team. Please email them on shs.admin@aem.org.uk to organise a visit and see our wonderful school in person.
I look forward to meeting you soon.
