Life at Sutherland House School

We're a vibrant, exciting and passionate school that educates students with autism spectrum conditions from early years and foundation stage through to post 16.

Sutherland House School is a non-maintained special school for autistic students aged between 3 and 19 years. We have provided a specialist education for autistic children and young people since 1968.

The school is located in the heart of Nottingham. Students attend our school from within a commutable distance covering the local authorities of Nottinghamshire, Nottingham City, Derbyshire, Derby City, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Leicester City, Rutland, Doncaster and South Yorkshire.

We are structured into lower, middle and upper schools to provide age appropriate education across the foundation stage, key stages 1, 2, 3, 4 and post 16.

Celebrations, belonging and behaviour

At Sutherland House School we have high expectations for our students in all areas of their learning. We celebrate their achievements and progress and teach self respect, tolerance and cooperation.
