Key Stage 4 students from Sutherland House School were invited to participate in a multi-sports event, or "Megafest", organised by Notts Active.
Students competed in rounds of dodgeball, handball and kurling at the Harvey Haddon sports centre in Bilborough, Nottingham on Thursday 19th September.
In Dodgeball, Sutherland House School played Ash Lea School scoring 29 points, with Bracken Hill School scoring 19 points and Outwood Academy scoring 42 points.
In Kurling, Sutherland House School played Colonel Frank Seely Academy, drawing at a final score of 2-2. The students also played Ash Lea School and Bracken Hill School, winning 3-1 against the former and losing 2-1 against the latter.
In Handball, Sutherland House School won against Ash Lea School with a final score of 3-1, followed by a match with Colonel Frank Seely Academy in which the Sutherland House School team lost with a final score of 8-5.
This was the first time some of the students had played at a multi-sports event. They represented the school in a very positive manner, displayed great teamwork and played the game fairly and to the rules. All participating students chose PE as an option, so taking part in these tournaments will also go towards their evidence for OCR Entry Level PE or Sports Leaders Level 1.
