Autumn harvesting at the school allotment

As we reach the end of summer, students visited our school allotment and found that our range of fruit, vegetables and flowers have now fully grown, ready to be harvested.

This month, we have been harvesting some of that produce, which means that students get to see the finished products of their work.

In the first of two updates from the allotment, we have Dawid Mazurek (pictured right) with apples, pears and marrows.

Dawid helped to harvest this produce with Alfie Heathcote as part of their Skills section on the Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award.

All the fruit, vegetables and flowers are grown, cared for and harvested by DofE and Active Living groups that access the allotments in St Anns, Nottingham.

In our next update, we'll be sharing more of our harvesting, including potatoes, runner beans and artichokes.
